ALLEGHENY, Pa. — Allegheny College junior, Brunswick native and former Mt. Ararat High School standout Jaymee Wallace has been named Honorable Mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference in a vote of the league’s women’s soccer coaches.
Wallace shook off a preseason injury to regain her role as a mainstay at midfield. Starting the team’s last 11 games, she scored two goals, including a doubleovertime game winner in a 1-0 win at Fredonia State.
She also led a staunch defense, as the Gators went 8-1-3 and gave up an average of just 0.58 goals in her 12 appearances.
Allegheny (11-5-4) earned a share of the NCAC’s regular season championship with a conference mark of 5- 1-2, before winning its first NCAC tournament championship with a 2-0 victory over Wittenberg in the conference title match.
With the win, Allegheny earned its fourth trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
Allegheny (11-6-4) saw its season end with a 2-1 defeat to No. 14 Thomas More College in the opening round in Crestview Hills, Ky.
