AUGUSTA (AP) — An Augusta man charged with fatally stabbing his girlfriend in their apartment earlier this month has waived his right to a bail hearing.
A lawyer for 38-year-old Justin Pillsbury filed the waiver in Kennebec County Superior Court and Justice Michaela Murphy approved it Thursday.
The waiver means Pillsbury will continue to be held without bail.
Pillsbury is charged with murder in connection with the Nov. 13 death of 24-yearold Jillian Jones. He was hospitalized with what authorities called self-inflicted stab wounds.
Pillsbury’s attorney, James Lawley, tells the Kennebec Journal that “the public is only hearing a part of the story,” and a “clearer picture of what happened will start to emerge.” He says it appears drugs and alcohol were involved.
