PORTLAND (AP) — Nearly 7,700 electric customers in Maine remain without power today after high winds caused outages across the state.

Central Maine Power reports more than 7,600 outages early today, mostly in Oxford and Franklin counties — down from a high of about 28,000 Sunday.

More than 5,000 were without power in Sagadahoc County, mostly in Bath and Woolwich, at some point Sunday.
