FREEPORT — Deborah Ann Payzant, age 57, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband by her side on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.

She was born April 4, 1956, the daughter of Robert and Freda Pottle. She grew up in Freeport and attended Freeport High School.

She married Robert Payzant on Nov. 28, 1976. They were married for almost 37 years and raised four children.

Throughout her life she had several successful home businesses, including Freeport Taxi which she and her husband operated for 16 years before selling. She also found enjoyment hosting Jeopardy parties and building an Internet-based jewelry business. She always enjoyed making and decorating gingerbread houses with her children, grandchildren, nephew and niece; a family tradition she started years ago.

Deb enjoyed the simple things in life such as gardening, cooking and most of all spending time with family. She and her husband enjoyed attending Native American pow-wow which brought her great peace.

She was predeceased by her brother, Bobby Pottle.

She is survived by her parents Robert and Freda Pottle; her husband, Bob; two sons, Ryan Payzant and his wife Melissa, Robert Payzant Jr.; two daughters, Robin Payzant Gibson, Liana Payzant Fusco and her husband Freddie; two brothers, Burt Hathorne and his wife Donna, Alan Pottle and his wife Pam; a sister, Cindy Curtis and her husband Elwyn; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 6 nephews and nieces; and many more family and friends.

A celebration of Deb’s life will take place 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at the Durham Am-Vets Hall. All that knew and loved Deb are welcome. A private Interment will take place n Grove Cemetery, Freeport. In lieu of flowers, please enjoy each special moment with your family; time is precious — life to short.
