TOPSHAM — Dana Warren Deguio, 59, currently of Topsham, ME, son of the late Raymond A. and Grace E. (Mann) Deguio, both of Amesbury, MA, died unexpectedly on Nov. 24, 2013, after a brief illness.

He was born in Amesbury, MA, in 1954. He graduated from Amesbury High School with the class of 1972 and also graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical School in 1974 receiving an associate’s degree in natural resources and horticulture.

In 1976, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served our country for 24 years. Supported by his wife and family he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Deguio, his brothers, Dwight Deguio, David Deguio and his wife Beverly, his sons, Raymond and his wife Beth Deguio, Andrew and his wife Randi Deguio, Shawn and his wife Lauralee

Kelley and Matthew and his wife Danielle Kelley; 3 grandchildren, Aiden, Alexis, and Owen; two nephews, Craig and Keith; four grand nieces and nephews, Jamie, Jack, Nicholas and Jordyn and two cousins, Marjorie McCabe and Robert Mann.

Dana enjoyed his family, loved traveling the world while in the Navy, anything to do with the outdoors and will be remembered as the ultimate backyard mechanic. His home was known as “Deguio’s Hobby Shop.”

Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, a Humane Society or and organization of donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick.
