PORTLAND (AP) — Maine lawmakers and advocates are opposing a plan to move state health department offices to South Portland.

Democratic Senate President Justin Alfond and other Portland lawmakers will join Portland Mayor Michael Brennan and advocates on today in Portland to denounce the decision to move the offices from the city.

They say that the new location is more difficult to get to using public transportation.

Following a rally in Portland today, the group plans to walk to a bus stop and take a bus ride to the proposed site of the new location in South Portland.
