TOPSHAM
The Topsham Public Library and the Sagadahoc County Democratic Committee are sponsoring a public information session on the Affordable Care Act at the library 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Thom Watson, a certified Affordable Care Act “navigator,” will present an overview of the law and walk through the application and eligibility process for enrolling in Maine’s Healthcare Insurance Marketplace. Ample time will also be allotted to answer questions from the audience.
The program is designed to explain who is eligible, what is covered, how much it costs, the information required to enroll, and where to find help with the process.
Watson, of Bath, is a former legislator now working as senior staff attorney at the Maine Workers’ Compensation
Board.
Saturday’s forum is at the Topsham Public Library, 25 Foreside Road, and is free to the public. For information: www.sagadahocdems.org; or call the library, at 725-1727.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
