BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Western Kentucky University swimming and diving team began the Hilltopper Open on a high note, as five pool records fell on Thursday night.
Former Mt. Ararat High School standout and Hilltopper freshman Celia Ouellette made her mark immediately, swimming to a 50 freestyle record in 23.44. She broke the mark of Claire Donahue, set in 2010.
Ouellette wasn’t through, teaming with Maggie Patterson, Natalie Lenderman and Paige Drazga in the 200 free relay for a record time of 1:34.29.
The Hilltoppers return to action Jan. 11 in Weston, Fla.
