Saturday, Dec. 14: “A Deertrees Christmas” takes the stage at First Congregational Church, 33 South High St. in Bridgton, at 3 p.m. Actors and musicians will give of their time and talent to deliver a festive family celebration of words and music. Refreshments served afterward. Suggested donation is $5. Tickets available in advance at Bridgton Books or at the door starting at 2:15 p.m.
Dec. 14-15: Schoolhouse Arts Center in Standish is hosting a Polar Express family event on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 5:30-10 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15, from 2-6:30 p.m. Kids can watch “The Polar Express” movie, sing Christmas songs, play games and enjoy cocoa and cookies served by elves. At the end of the movie Santa comes to see the children and give them a bell and gift bags. Suggested donation is $10 each. Sunday, Dec. 15: Faith Lutheran Church in Windham is holding its annual “Christmas in the Barn” at 1 p.m. at the Hartwell Farm, 443 Sebago Lake Road (Route 237), Gorham. Free and open to the public. Take Route 35 from Windham toward Standish, turn left onto Route 237 and go about a mile. There will be signs on the road to direct.
Dec. 15: The Annual Holiday Cookie Walk takes place 3-5 p.m. at Spaulding Memorial Library in Sebago.
Thursday, Dec. 19: Raymond Village Community Church is holding a Longest Night Candlelight Vespers Service at 7 p.m. at the church on Main Street in Raymond. The service is a time to recognize that Christmas can be a bittersweet time of year. Rejoicing and finding pleasure in the hustle and bustle of the season can be difficult if you are burdened by loss, regret, or just the general stress of getting it all done. Saturday, Jan. 4: There will be a rabies clinic at the Sebago Town Hall from 10 a.m.-noon. The clinic will be limited to cats and dogs only. No puppies or kittens. Cats must be in carriers, and dogs on a non-retractable leash. The veterinarian also requests no sick or pregnant animals. Costs will be $10. Bring the most recent rabies certificate to receive a 3-year shot, otherwise a 1-year shot will be administered.
