BATH — Emma Harrington had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Morse High School girls basketball team broke into the win column with a 46-42 come-frombehind victory over Erskine Academy in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference contest at Bath Middle School on Thursday.
The Shipbuilders, 1-2 and slated to visit Medomak Valley on Saturday, led 14-13 after the first quarter, but the Eagles claimed a 26-21 halftime lead. Morse cut the lead to 36-35 through three.
“This young Shipbuilders team showed poise and glimpses of maturity down the stretch to pull out the win,” said Morse coach Becky Roak.
Leia Graves and Noa Sreden chipped in six points each, while Signe Ostergaard sank four of six free throws, including two late in regulation to secure the win. She also had six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Mallory Chamberlain paced Erskine (1-2) with 18 points, including three 3- pointers.

The Shipbuilders improved to 3-0 in KVAC Class B play with a win at South China.
Morse, which hosts Medomak Valley Saturday at 1 p.m., led 8-6 after a quarter and 27-15 at the break. The Shipbuilders struggled in the third quarter, scoring just two points as Erskine Academy (0-3) closed to 29-24 through 24 minutes.
But, Morse outscored the hosts 12-2 in the fourth to secure the victory.
Ethan Winglass paced the Shipbuilders with 17 points. Chris Paulus (nine points) and Casey Watson (eight) also chipped in.
Matt Cleary and Jared Gartley led Erskine with 10 points apiece.

John Hepburn scored 11 of his game-high 24 points in the first quarter as Boothbay started hot and held on for a Mountain Valley Conference win at Lisbon Falls.
The Seahawks (1-1) hit their first seven shots to claim a 21-12 lead through a quarter. Down 14, Lisbon (1- 1) closed to 28-21 at the half and trailed 40-31 after three quarters.
“We were able to get it down to seven, and we hung in there until late when Boothbay made some free throws,” said Lisbon coach Jake Gentle, whose Greyhounds visit Dirigo Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Jacob Johnston had a double double for Lisbon, scoring 12 points and pulling down a like number of rebounds. Johnny Yim chipped in eight points, Tucker Brannon seven and Kendal Roy six.
Hepburn had 12 boards, while Nick Kilgus drained three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points. Andrew Hallinan chipped in 11.
Boothbay was 15 of 22 at the foul line, with the Greyhounds finishing 15 of 25.
