BRUNSWICK — Evie Clement scored two goals as the Falmouth High School girls hockey team came away with a 5-0 victory over Brunswick on Wednesday at Bowdoin’s Sidney J. Watson Arena.

“The girls never gave up and battled hard to the end,” said Brunswick coach Bill Bodwell after his Dragons fell to 1-7 host Greely on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Brunswick goaltender Claire Mendes was busy, turning aside 38 shots as the Dragons were outshot 43-3.

“Claire’s play in the first period was as good as any goalie I have ever seen,” said Bodwell of his senior netminder. “She made great save after great save, stopping 21 shots. She really had Falmouth (1-2) frustrated.”
