BRUNSWICK — Kyle Lussier had two goals and an assist, and Ben Bishop dished out three helpers as the Mt. Ararat/Lisbon boys high school team pulled away for a 5-2 Class A victory over Bonny Eagle on Wednesday at Sidney J. Watson Arena.

The Scots scored first as Cam Brown converted a pass from Matt Wintle with 3:06 remaining in the opening frame. The Eagles tied the game with 46 seconds remaining in the frame as Steve Schuman tallied his first varsity goal off an assist from Orion Sargent.

Mt. Ararat/Lisbon (3-1) took a 2-1 lead on Lussier’s first goal from Mark Abreu and Bishop. Bonny Eagle tied the game when Kyle Whitman beat Eagles goaltender Kyle Welsh (22 saves), but Mt. Ararat/Lisbon regained the advantage less than one minute later when Tyler Halls scored his first varsity goal.

Third period goals by Lussier (assisted by Bishop) and Abreu (Bishop, Lussier) completed the scoring.

Mt. Ararat/Lisbon held a 42-24 shots advantage. Bonny Eagle (1-3) goaltender Matt Bridges had 37 saves.

The Eagles take on Edward Little tonight at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn at 8 p.m.
