First Hikes
Jan. 1, statewide
Maine State Parks, along with state parks nationwide, will celebrate First Day Hikes. Free, Ranger-guided hikes will be held at five parks to welcome in the new year. The hikes will be at noon at Lily Bay State Park; 1:30 p.m. at Popham Beach State Park; 12:30 p.m. at Range Ponds State Park; 10:30 a.m. at Sebago Lake State Park; and 10 a.m. at Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park. Animal Tracks

The L.C. Bates Museum is leading a program on animal tracks, helping participants to identify them in the snow. Come learn tricks for identifying tracks and make flash cards to help remember them.
