Camden Hills Regional High School will hold its annual alumni basketball tournament on Saturday. The women’s game will be at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds go toward the Community Bleacher project, which is installing a 650-seat set of bleachers at Don Palmer Field. Tickets for the NCAA Division III men’s hockey championships at the Colisee in Lewiston will go on sale Jan. 2. Hosted by Bowdoin College and the Maine Sports Commission, the tournament will feature semifinals at 4 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, with the title game at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22. There will be separate admission each day. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, students and children under 18. The Biddeford-Saco Elks Lodge will hold its annual “Hoop Shoot” contest Jan. 5 at the Saco Middle School gym. The contest is for boys and girls ages 8-13 as of April 1, 2014. Registration and warm-ups begin at 8:30 a.m., and competition begins at 9 a.m. There is no fee. Each shooter takes 25 free throws. The top three contestants in each age bracket will receive a trophy, and the winners will be invited to participate in the district competition in Rockland the following weekend. The city of Auburn is accepting nominations for the naming of the baseball field at Pettengill Park. Nomination forms are available at www.auburnmaine.gov. The submission deadline is 4:30 p.m. Jan. 6.

Registration is open for the inaugural Maine Games King of the Rink Tier IV hockey tournament. The tournament will be held Jan. 17-19 at Biddeford Ice Arena and the University of New England’s Harold Alfond Forum.
