Elizabeth “Betty” Applin, a former resident of Saco, died Dec. 8, 2013, at her home in Baton Rouge, La. She was 86. After a vigil at the Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, La. on Dec. 12, a Mass of Christian burial was conducted Dec. 13 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. She was buried beside her husband at the Port Hudson National Cemetery.

Ralph Harold Drown, 78, of Walker Road, died Dec. 22, 2013 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, surrounded by his loving family. Friends may visit on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. Rachel B. LaFlamme, 92, of Sanford, died on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. in Sanford. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
