SUNRISE, Fla. — Brian Campbell, Aleksander Barkov and Dmitry Kulikov each scored goals to lift the Florida Panthers over the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 on Sunday night.

Sean Bergenheim added an empty-net goal with 17 seconds left. Tom Gilbert had two assists.

Scott Clemmensen stopped 21 shots for the Panthers, who broke a three-game losing streak and beat Montreal for the second time this month. Clemmensen is 8-1 against the Canadiens.

Montreal lost for the first time in three games.

Brandon Prust scored for the Canadiens, and Peter Budaj made 21 saves.

Florida stretched its lead to 3-1 on Barkov’s goal in the second period. Gilbert’s shot from the slot was tipped in by Barkov at 14:29. Barkov has seven points in six games.

SABRES 2, CAPITALS 1: Ryan Miller made 49 saves, and Buffalo won in a shootout at home against Washington.

Drew Stafford netted Buffalo’s goal in regulation, and Steve Ott scored the lone shootout goal in the sixth round as the Sabres improved to 5-0-1 in their last six home games after starting 3-12-1 there.

Miller stopped all six Washington shootout attempts.

PENGUINS 5, BLUE JACKETS 3: James Neal scored three times and had two assists, and Sidney Crosby scored the go-ahead goal and set up two other tallies to lead Pittsburgh to victory at Columbus, Ohio.

Chris Kunitz added his 21st goal and two assists, and Jeff Zatkoff made 25 saves for the Penguins, who have won all four meetings with Columbus this season.

BLUES 3, STARS 2: Kevin Shattenkirk scored a power-play goal 4:49 into overtime, giving St. Louis a victory at Dallas.

Jaden Schwartz had a goal in his fifth straight game and T.J. Oshie also scored for the Blues, who improved to 12-0-1 against Central Division opponents. Brian Elliott made 28 saves.

Dallas overcame a 2-0 deficit with second-period goals by Jamie Benn and Ryan Garbutt.

RANGERS 4, LIGHTNING 3: Henrik Lundqvist made 37 saves in his first start in four games, and Mats Zuccarello had a goal and two assists in New York’s win at Tampa, Fla.

Lundqvist had watched from the bench as backup Cam Talbot started the previous three games, winning two, after Lundqvist struggled through a 1-4-2 stretch.

MAPLE LEAFS 5, HURRICANES 2: Phil Kessel scored twice, reaching the 20-goal plateau for the sixth straight season, to help Toronto win at home against Carolina.

The speedy Leafs forward could have had more but he failed to score on two breakaways.

Nikolai Kulemin, Paul Ranger and Dion Phaneuf also scored for Toronto.

CANUCKS 2, FLAMES 0: Backup goaltender Eddie Lack had to stop just 18 shots in posting a shutout at Calgary.

NOTES

RED WINGS: Jimmy Howard, a former UMaine goalie, appears headed for Sochi as the third-string goaltender behind Jonathan Quick of Los Angeles and Ryan Miller of Buffalo.

Howard, sidelined three weeks ago with a sprained left knee, is 6-8-7 this season with a 2.65 goals-against average. He’s expected to return this week.
