Dennis LeVasseur, assistant manager from the Nordica Theatre, recently presented this check for $410 to Melanie Sachs, executive director of Freeport Community Services. The check was from donations at the Greater Freeport Chamber of Commerce December Business After Hours at the theater, “The Polar Express” film and movie poster sales. The snow-removal work was ongoing at businesses throughout Freeport last Friday, including the area in back of L.L. Bean and Ben & Jerry’s, shown here.  Joe Daley, who works for a snow-removal contractor, clears snow outside Abercrombie & Fitch on a frigid morning last week. The Freeport High School National Honor Society students, led by teacher Becky Peterson and librarian Mary Moore, ran a collection for toiletries to be delivered before Christmas to Freeport Community Services Food Pantry.
