SCARBOROUGH — Scarborough police are warning motorists that a traffic light at a busy commuter intersection may be out of service until Thursday night.
The traffic light, which is used to direct vehicles through the intersection at routes 114 and 22, was damaged Tuesday night when power lines fell on the signal. The town of Scarborough is using volunteers to direct traffic through the intersection, which is near O’Donal’s Nursery on Route 114.
Police are warning motorists that they may encounter delays and are recommending that motorists seek alternate routes. Police are estimating that repairs should be completed by the Thursday evening commute.
