Having graduated from Kennebunk High School and having been a teacher/guidance counselor there for nearly 30 years, I am well aware of the shortcomings of the facilities.
It’s definitely at a breaking point. Unfortunately, these physical problems have intensified over the years. It’s time to bring our schools to a standard of which we all can be proud. The longer our communities wait to address the obvious, the more expensive the solution becomes.
The time is now. Please give serious thought and consideration to supporting the future of our greater school communities. We truly have an opportunity to leave an enduring legacy to our children.
–Richard Farnsworth, Kennebunk

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
