SACO — Marguerite Y. Boivin, 97, of Saco died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 at the Wardwell Home.

She was born in Biddeford on Sept. 29, 1916, the daughter of Wilfrid and Alice Simard Boivin, and was educated in Biddeford schools.

For many years, Marguerite cared for her aging mother. She later helped her sister in the daily chores at the Villa Dionne Hotel in Old Orchard Beach.

Marguerite enjoyed volunteering her talents in painting and touching up religious statues for the church. She also enjoyed bowling and traveling to France, Montana, Canada and Florida. She loved to swim and spend time at the family cottage at Bay View in Saco.

She was preceded in death by: Four sisters, Fernande Dionne, Aline Boivin, Antoinette Guevin and Simone Turgeon.

She is survived by: one niece, Claudette F. Jaunault of Brunoy, France; two nephews, Gerald Guevin of Seeley Lake, Mont. and Norman Guevin of Helena, Mont.; two cousins, Germaine Simard of Montreal, Quebec and Sr. Marguerite Simard of Montreal, Quebec.

Visiting hours will be 9-10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford.
