SANFORD — Michael C. Keef, 60, of School Street, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Saco July 7, 1953, the son of Clinton and Katherine White Keef.
Michael attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1973.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was stationed in San Diego.
After his service, he worked for more than 30 years as a painter and sandblaster for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
He enjoyed reading.
He is survived by: his wife, Nancy Keef of Biddeford; his mother of Texas; a son, William Keef of Biddeford; two sisters, Marjorie Cote of Texas and Patricia LaFlamme of Saco; and a grandson, Isaac Keef.
A memorial service will be held in the spring. Dennett, Craig & Pate, 365 Main St., Saco, is in charge of the arrangements.
