PORTLAND — Nation Miller, 23, of Mexico, Maine, was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court by Judge D. Brock Hornby to 20 months in prison and three years of supervised release for conspiring to make counterfeit United States currency.

Miller pleaded guilty to the charges on Aug. 19.

According to court records, on July 3, 2012, Miller conspired with two accomplices to make counterfeit $50 bills. The next day, Miller and his accomplices passed counterfeit bills in Mexico and Old Orchard Beach.

The investigation of this case was conducted by the Mexico and Old Orchard Beach Police Departments and the U.S. Secret Service.
