OGUNQUIT — Ogunquit Playhouse announces its 2014 season, including the first regional premiere of the Broadway musical “The Addams Family,” featuring the characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams. This new musical comedy was created by “Jersey Boys’” authors Marshall Brickman,Rick Elice and Drama Desk Award-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa. The Addams Family is on stage Oct. 1-26.

The Ogunquit Playhouse season opens with “Grease,” on stage May 21 to June 21. The popular rock ‘n’ roll celebration of teen angst, fast cars and first loves is set in the ’50s.

Next on stage is “Billy Elliot the Musical” running from June 25 to July 26, the story of a young boy’s struggle against the odds to make his dream come true, including music by Elton John and dance numbers.

“Mary Poppins” will be performed from July 30 to Aug. 30. This family musical features songs from the popular Disney film including “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Supercali-fragilisticexpialidocious” and “Chim Chim Cher-ee.”

The Ogunquit Playhouse was also selected by Cameron Mackintosh to be the American Northeast premiere of his hit musical stage adaptation of “The Witches of Eastwick,” on stage Sept. 3-27. This new musical comedy is based on the Warner Brothers hit motion picture.

The dates for the entire 2014 season have been announced with public ticket sales set to begin Monday, Feb. 10. Season ticket subscriptions are also on sale now.
