Sanford police say a man showed a gun in a store and demanded money, but left empty-handed a clerk wouldn’t turn over the cash.
The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. Friday at Lil General Store on Country Club Road. According to police, the man went into the store, showed a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, but ran out when he didn’t get the money. Police said they’re not sure if he kept running after leaving the store or if a car was waiting for him.
Police described the suspect as 5 feet, 5-inches tall, wearing a black ski mask, dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, brown shoes and purple gloves.
