The first-ever Maine Franchise Owners Franchise Business Day and Legislators Meet & Greet set for Jan. 29 from 1-5 p.m., starting with a forum to share best practices and resources for franchising in Maine. A legislative meet and greet will follow from 5-7 p.m. The event will take place at The Senator Inn, 284 Western Ave., Augusta. Attendance is complimentary for Maine franchise owners and legislators. Preregistration is required.
Some of the speakers include Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais, attorneys Ed Feibel and Eaton Peabody, and Subway franchisee owner Keith Miller. The Department of Labor will provide an employer legal compliance workshop, and franchise owners will present “Universal Franchisee Bill of Rights: Why, How and Who Wrote it and What it Means for You.”
