SANFORD — Supporters of St. Thomas School in Sanford are sending out an invitation for all to join them for an auction to support local education in the historic Trust Building in downtown Sanford. St. Thomas is a Catholic, pre-k through grade 6 school located in Sanford.

St. Thomas School’s fourth annual Live and Silent Auction will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the Town Club, on the fourth floor of the Trust Building at the corner of Main and Washington streets.

To cap the evening, there will be live music, a cash bar, and hors d’oeuvres with the silent auction as well as a $150 door prize.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 if purchased on the day of the auction.

This event brings together support from all over New England to benefit the school. Father Phil Tracy will be auctioning a diverse group of items from Skowhegan all the way to Connecticut ”“ more than 120 items in all. Items include a two-night stay at the Bayside Hotel in Yarmouth, a white water rafting trip, a ride to school with the Sanford Fire Department, and tickets for the Portland Pirates. The auction and donations are entirely provided by parent volunteers and others supporting the school.

Proceeds from the auction support financial assistance to families in need, updating the school’s technology on a regular basis, and field trips and other learning experiences.
