A very successful Crystal Lake Liberty Family Foundation Ice Fishing Derby was held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 24 North Raymond Road in Gray.

Here are the Derby winners:

Adult Trout: 1. Matt Poole 4.20 lb., 2. Lucas Rodrigue 2.66 lb., 3. Albert Holden Jr. 2.10 lb., 4. Greg Massey 1.92 lb.

Adult Eel: 1. Bobby Reed 1.74 lb.

While the construction project still continues on, the Gray Public Library has officially opened the first portion of their new expansion. Please drop by and see the first glimpse of your new library.

Children’s Story Times are held at the Pennell Complex on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. If schools are closed due to weather, there will be no story time.

Legion’s Bean Supper

The Legion’s monthly Bean Supper at 15 Lewiston Road, will be on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m. On the menu are: pea and kidney beans, chop suey, cole slaw, hot dogs, breads and dessert. A Blood Drive will be held at Saint Gregory, 24 North Raymond Road, in Gray, on Friday, Jan. 31, at 1-6 p.m.

Winter Activities

Audio Body High Tech Comedy and Music will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 5:30 p.m., at GNG High School Gym. Tickets on sale now at the Gray Parks and Rec. Office, $7 in advance, $9 at door. “Blue Man Group meets a modern-day Smothers Brothers.” Refreshments offered throughout the show.

February Vacation Camp will be Feb. 18 through 21, at the Newbegin Gym and will offer morning enrichment classes and afternoon field trips to area destinations. Vacation Camp is limited to children in grades K to 6, with a minimum of 12 participants required. A healthy snack and lunch must be packed daily (no soda is allowed).

Hoop Dance Class, Gymnastic Lessons, Cheer Tumbling, Junior Indoor Soccer League, Soccer Foot Skills, Horseback Riding Lessons, Men’s 35-plus Basketball League, Adult Pick-Up Basketball and Zumba for Kids all starting soon.

Little Leagues Merge

The boards of directors of the Gray and New Gloucester Little Leagues are happy to announce that they have merged for the 2014 season. As of the opening of registration Jan. 14, they are now operating as one league.

Everyone can register their players now at www.GNGLittleLeague.com or at one of the in-person registration nights happening, Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russell Elementary School and Thursday, Feb. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Elementary School. Also, those who would like to manage or coach teams in the league must get in their coaching applications by Feb. 7. Applications can be found on the website.

Registration will close on March 1. GNG Little League will be fielding teams in T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Player Pitch Baseball, Minors Baseball, Minors Softball, Majors Baseball, and Majors Softball. All details about prices, ages and eligibility are on the website.

Lacrosse Clinic

The Patriot Lacrosse Club is hosting an Introduction to Lacrosse Clinic for boys and girls in grades 3-8 on Feb. 8, from 1:30-2:30 p.m., at the Riverside Athletic Center in Portland.
