KENNEBUNKPORT — On Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m., the next Pasco Author Lecture Series, sponsored by the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library in Kennebunkport, will feature Newbery Medal-winning children’s book author Lois Lowry.
Lowry will speak on “An Artist’s Review in Winter.” This event will be held at the Community House on Temple Street in Kennebunkport. Lowry’s work includes the Newbery Award-winning novels “Number the Stars” (1990) and “The Giver” (1994).
It has been several years since Lowry visited the library. Since that time, she has presented dozens of new characters, intriguing plots and even a look into her personal life through her writing. In an interview conducted several years ago, she was asked what inspired her to become an author. Her response was: “Nothing ”˜inspired’ me to be an author. It was simply what I always wanted to do, from childhood; what I did best, loved best. If anything inspired me, it was books.”
This event is free and open to the public. Call 967-2778 for further details, or visit www.graveslibrary.org.
