OLD ORCHARD BEACH — James Augustus Herwood Jr., 70, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Jan. 10, 2014, surrounded by his family, after a long struggle with cancer.
He worked as a mechanic for United Parcel Service for 34 years and was an avid Patriots fan.
Jim was a devoted husband and a beloved father and grandfather. He loved to travel and enjoyed sharing stories from all the places he had visited.He enjoyed helping people, and was a man of great faith who spent his free time teaching others about God and the Bible. He was very active in the Saco Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 42 years, Joline Abbot (Rich) Herwood, who passed away March 3, 2013.
He is survived by: a son and four daughters, Dana Herwood, Kathleen McCullough, Kristine Puff, Kimberly Haseltine and Jennifer Herwood; as well as five grandchildren, Ashley Fuller, Cody McCullough, Alissa McCullough, Ezekiel Puff and Dana Puff.
Jimmy and Jody touched many lives, were greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service was held at the Saco Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Shadagee Road in Saco on Saturday, Jan. 25. Arrangements are with Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home.
