BEVERLY, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts college student has been charged with three apparently random assaults on campus that landed two victims in the hospital with broken facial bones.
Police on Tuesday arrested 19-year-old Endicott College student Dillon Destefano, of Riverdale, N.J., and charged him with aggravated assault and battery.
Authorities say Destefano punched three fellow students on the Beverly campus between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
One student was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken jaw. A second suffered a broken eye socket. A third had minor injuries.
Destefano was accompanied by two other students at the time of the alleged assaults, but they have not been charged.
It was unclear if Destefano had hired a lawyer. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
