Elizabeth Mininni

BIDDEFORD — Elizabeth Mininni of Biddeford passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Feb. 6, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of John and Catherine (Hebert) Mullen.

She attended schools in Westbrook and was a 1948 graduate of Westbrook High School.

On Sept. 20, 1952, Elizabeth Mullen married Vito “Mike” Mininni, the love of her life, at St. Mary’s Church in Westbrook. They celebrated 59 years together before Mike’s passing on April 7, 2011.

As a young woman, she worked as a telephone operator and later stayed at home to care for her children.

She was a member and past president of St. Mary’s Sodality. Her home was the hub of activity for her children, grandchildren and all of her friends.

Surviving are: two sons, Vito M. Mininni III and Michael A. Mininni and his wife Kirstin; four daughters, Laura Mininni and her companion Dan Plante, Catherine Fecteau and her companion Jerry Nadeau, Veronica Mininni and her companion Jerry Letellier, and Michelle Jamieson and her husband Dan, all of Biddeford; one brother, John Mullen and his wife Susan of Portland; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are being handled by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
