OLD ORCHARD BEACH — The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League has announced that Chris Torres will be returning as manager for the 2014 season.
This will be Torres’ second season of managerial experience, both with the Raging Tide.
Torres led the Tide to a franchise-record 26 wins in his first season, as well as the Tide’s first playoff appearance.
“I’m very excited to be returning to the Tide and to Old Orchard Beach for the summer,” said Torres. “We had a great season last year, resulting in our first playoff appearance. The goal this year is to build off of last season’s success and use that momentum to make a deeper playoff run this year.”
“We are extremely excited to have Chris back with us this year,” said new Raging Tide General Manager Taylor Fisher. “Chris was a big part of last year’s success, and we’re excited to see what else he can bring to the table now that he has a year of managerial experience under his belt. All of the players learned a lot from Chris, and they were always eager to work with Chris and his coaching staff to help improve themselves.”
The Raging Tide kicks off its 2014 season on June 4 when it hosts the Nashua Silver Knights at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach.
