Finding Lost History

On Saturday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m., Ernie Mitchell of Windham Historical Society will present a program at the library and will discuss how lost history can be found with a metal detector. This includes a fascinating look at artifacts from the time of King Philip’s War and the story of their discovery. Refreshments follow the program, which concludes with a brief membership meeting. For more information, call the society at 892-1433 or email [email protected]. This program is for all ages and there is no charge. Donation of $5 is suggested.

Thanks!

Windham Neighbors Helping Neighbors has helped more than 80 families so far this heating season, with emergency donations of fuel! That is amazing – what is just as amazing is that more than $28,000 has been donated by fellow residents, organizations and businesses. This week, thanks go out to Claire Cressey and Windham High School Honor Society for their generosity.

WNHN is a local, all-volunteer group that provides emergency fuel assistance to those in critical need. The only source of funds to provide this help is from donations and fundraisers. For information on how you can help, or if you need help, visit the website at www.windhamneighbors.org. As the fuel prices continue to rise and snow continues to fall, your support and donations (no matter what size) are vitally needed.
