AUGUSTA — Maine Democrats are kicking off the 2014 campaign season with caucuses happening across the state.
Democrats of Maine expect thousands of party members statewide to attend caucuses on Sunday.
Ben Grant, chairman of the Maine Democratic Party, says the focus of the gatherings will be a grassroots movement that supports working class Mainers. The Democratic State Convention will be held in late May at the newly opened Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Republicans also have been holding local caucuses that started late last month and will continue through March.
