A weekly look at our communities through photos.

Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport, which is open to the public seven days a week from dawn until dark, now has at least 12 baby lambs in the barn, with several more expected in the next week or so. They also are expecting some goat kids, and they have 50 chicks in the brooder, a coop full of laying hens, cattle and American Guinea Hogs.  A good crowd was on hand when the FreeportUSA Member Mixer was held on Feb. 20 at Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars, at 58 Main St. in Freeport. Fiore, owned by Nancy O’Brien, was named 2013 Woman Owned Small Business of the Year by the Small Business Administration of Maine.  Recreational areas outside the Casco Bay Branch of the YMCA of Southern Maine in Freeport will come to life in just a few weeks, once spring arrives.
