Commemorating the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as the author and illustrator Dr. Seuss, children and their parents were entertained with some of his classics last Saturday, March 2, at South Portland Public Library. Seuss was born March 2, 1904, and died in 1991 after publishing 46 children’s books.
Playing Thing 1 at the Dr. Seuss birthday celebration on Saturday is Jessica Milton, a helper in the Children’s Room at the South Portland Public Library.
Dr. Seuss crafts offered at the South Portland Public Library on Saturday included a Cat in the Hat mask. Here Abbey LaRose takes part with her children, Charlie, 1, and Jared, 4.
