AUGUSTA — Maine is getting more than $250,000 from the federal government to help workers who were laid off at the Lincoln Paper and Tissue mill.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud announced the release of the $256,000 in National Emergency Grant funding on Monday, which he said will go toward assisting roughly 100 workers affected by unemployment find new jobs.
The mill in Lincoln announced in December that it was furloughing about 200 employees, citing in part costs associated with a boiler explosion.
