LRHS Drama Club Presents…
“Fiddler on the Roof!” Don’t miss what is sure to be a great family event at the Lake Region High School’s auditorium. Shows start Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m. Additional shows are Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m., with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 6. Tickets are on sale around town, and of course, at the high school and at the door.
Spring Fling Naples Lion’s Club
The Naples Lions Club is holding its seventh annual “Spring Fling” to benefit the Naples Fuel Fund (which was proudly originated by the group themselves) and the Community Resource Council and Cross-Walk, both of Naples. Join them at the Naples American Legion on Route 11 on Saturday, April 12. Doors open at 5 p.m. so you can check out the Silent Auction offerings. The delectable “Stations Style” Buffet Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. The Naples Lions have already donated $2,000 to the Town Fuel Fund this season, but due to severe winter weather, they felt the residents could probably use as much help as possible with fuel, food, and other necessities. All proceeds from the event will go toward these local charities. The live auction portion of the event begins at 7 p.m. All buffet foods will be donated by local food establishments.
Maine Maple Sunday
It’s this Sunday, March 23! So get out and get your pancakes, ice cream and more all topped with the liquid gold stuff! While I don’t know of anything specific going on in Naples, our family usually hits the surrounding towns. The pancake breakfast at the Sebago Old Town Hall is always good and then we always stop by the sugar shack on Route 107.
Project Graduation Update
The group is still selling tickets for their March Madness calendar raffle with the drawing being held on March 31. You can buy tickets right up until that date. All winning tickets will be put back in for more chances to win. The prizes include something for everyone! Zumba classes, yoga classes, Scentsy products, restaurant gift certificates, including not only many of the wonderful pizza places in our area, but The Galley, The Black Horse Tavern, Campfire Grille and Beth’s Kitchen. Two photographers with great offerings have also donated, as well as a pontoon boat rental, and so much more.
Another exciting fundraiser the group is offering is a raffle for a five-day stay at Point Sebago, valued at $645. It includes a stay in a Park Home from June 15 to June 20 and includes a $200 coupon book. Do you have family coming for graduation? These park homes sleep up to six and they are about 400 square feet. Ticket prices are the same for this as for the calendar: $3 for one ticket, $5 for two tickets and $10 for five tickets.
The drawing will be held on Saturday, April 5, at the annual Spaghetti Dinner held at the Masonic Hall in Bridgton, which is sponsored by Oriental Lodge A.F.&A.M. Tickets are only $6 each or $25 for a family of five or more. If you’ve never been to a spaghetti dinner cooked by the Masons, you don’t know what you’re missing! Please contact Sara-Sue Schreiber at [email protected] or Eileen Tidd at [email protected] for more information or tickets.
Congratulations
Congratulations are in order for Dakota Russo, of Naples, for receiving the All-State Hockey Tier II West award for high school hockey. Dakota plays for the Ice Cats, a high school hockey league consisting of students from Lake Region High School, Fryeburg Academy, and Oxford Hills area. The awards banquet was held at the Lewiston Ramada this past Sunday. Dakota was the only athlete chosen on the Ice Cats hockey team to receive this award. He was chosen by other coaches from other teams. Dakota is the son of Tara and Steve Russo.
Under the direction of Eugene Long, “Fiddler on the Roof” will take the stage in early April at the Lake Region High School.
