Runners from Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough took part in the New Balance Nationals in New York City last weekend. Cape Elizabeth’s Liam Simpson finished 12th in the boys’ emerging elite two-mile (9 minutes, 33.04 seconds). Scarborough’s 800 emerging elite relay team (Austin Doody, Cameron Langlois, Jerry Kenney and Maxwell Ornstein) came in 43rd (1:34.45).
