The Riot Crew robotics team from South Portland High School took the top prize at the FIRST Robotics Competition held at the University of New Hampshire on March 6 and 7.

Under strict rules, with limited resources and time limits, teams of at least 25 students were challenged to build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors.

During the event held at UNH, almost 40 teams from around Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut competed against each other and the team from South Portland came out on top.
