Josh Elliott is leaving “Good Morning America” and being replaced in the news anchor chair by Amy Robach, ABC News President Ben Sherwood announced Sunday in a memo to his staff.
Elliott is joining NBC Sports. Robach, who has been battling breast cancer while working, filled in on “GMA” for Robin Roberts several times when Roberts was recovering from her bone marrow transplant.
Before joining “GMA,” Robach worked as a general assignment reporter in South Carolina and a morning anchor in Washington.
