A look at our communities through photos.

The Freeport Woman’s Club steering committee got together at the home of Jan Zimmerman on April 4 to make plans for their upcoming Spring Bazaar that will take place on Saturday, May 3, at St. Jude’s Church in Freeport from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The event will feature attic treasures, collectibles, baked goods, plants and gift baskets. Shown from left, seated, are Jan Zimmerman, Alicia Klick and Jackie Twomey. Standing, club president Nita Voskian, Sharon Coffin, Nancy Clark and Sheri Bunting. Not shown is Betsy Roper, who took the photo. JoAnn Miller, left, and Elaine Greene, two of the Freeport Flag Ladies, and their friends showed the colors, as they always do on Tuesday mornings, in downtown Freeport on April 1. Flag Lady Carmen Footer, recovering from heart surgery, will be back on the scene within a few weeks, it is expected. Travis Libsack, right, and his brother Quinton play a little Frisbee after school on an early spring day last week in a parking lot near the Freeport Community Center. Carol Piecuch, a member of Freeport Elders Association, sews potholders for microwaves that she calls “cutables” one morning last week at the group’s space in the Freeport Community Center. Members make and sell crafts.
