NEW FACES

Robert Harper was named acting superintendent at Riverview Psychiatric Center. Harper is a veteran leader in state government with vast experience in mental health services. Most recently, he served as a patient advocate with the Disability Rights Center, where he provided support to clients of Riverview Psychiatric Center. He is a member of the adjunct faculty (mental health and human services) at the University of Maine in Augusta.

SIS Bank hired Eric Beauregard as a commercial lending officer at the bank’s Sanford headquarters. Most recently, he was a commercial relationship manager at Northway Bank of Portsmouth, N.H.

PROMOTIONS

 Unum made several promotions, including three to assistant vice president.

Andrea Gordon was promoted to senior vice president of Integrated Underwriting for Unum. She joined Unum in 1985 as a sales representative in the Portland office and has held various roles in the sales, service and marketing organizations.

Mary Axelsen was promoted to assistant vice president and senior human resource business partner in the corporate human resources department. She has been with Unum for 13 years.

Adam Moody was named assistant vice president of modeling product management and technical infrastructure in the finance department. Moody has worked at Unum for six years.

Oliver Murray is the assistant vice president and counsel for Unum Law and will support the benefits organizations. He joined Unum in 2006 as a senior information specialist. Prior to his promotion, he was an associate counsel.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

 Attorney Eben Albert-Knopp of Bernstein Shur was named the 2013 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project. Albert-Knopp of Portland was recognized for his work on several Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project cases. He’s a member of the firm’s business law practice group, litigation group and the data security team.

 Joanne Felice Boucher, owner of Felice Boucher Photography of Portland, was honored with numerous awards at the Maine Professional Photographers Convention held in Brunswick. The many awards she received include the 2014 Maine Photographer of the Year, Best Client Image, Artistry in Photography, Wedding Album of the Year, Best of Show and a Creative Image Award.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage recently recognized several of its top-performing sales associates:

Betsy Ames-Fitzgerald of Kennebunkport; Jane and Garry Smith of Portland; Leo Bourgeault and his team, Leo’s Sold Team, of Saco; Jennifer DeSena of Cape Elizabeth; and Jon Finch of Saco, were recognized.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

The following people were recently elected to the board of directors of the Maine Professional Drivers Association:

Denis Litalien of Clifford W. Perham Inc./Shaw’s Supermarkets, was named president. James Costa of Patriot Tank Lines was named vice president. Robert Fernald of Walmart Transportation was named a membership officer. George Colby of Streets of Gold Transport was appointed a legislative officer. Ronald Round of Pottle’s Transportation was named a publicity officer. Randy DeVault of Maine Motor Transport Association was named a Truck Driving Championships Officer.

Dr. Scott Mills, a cardiologist, chief medical officer and vice president of medical administration at Mid Coast Health Services, was elected president of the board of directors for the Bath Area Family YMCA. He will serve a one-year term.

Also joining the board for three- year terms are Dr. Kay Beveridge, an optometrist with Mid Coast Eye Associates; Dr. Irl Rosner, an anesthesiologist at Mid Coast Hospital; and Dr. Leah Zartarian, a retired physician from West Bath.
