The Community Gardens of Old Orchard Beach is partnering with the students of Loranger Middle School to plant and maintain an organic vegetable garden at the school.
To support the students’ efforts, help is being sought from residents, in the form of tools, a wheel barrow, hoses and nozzles, seeds and seedlings, organic fertilizers, and organic pest control items. Financial donations will also be gratefully accepted.
To help, call Old Orchard Beach Community Gardens Secretary Jackie Tselikis at 939-2260.
New gardeners are welcome at the next meeting of the group on Wednesday, April 30, at the Old Orchard Beach Police Department Community Room, beginning at 6 p.m.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
