SACO — Claire B. Paul, 75, of Saco died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
She was born in Sanford on Nov. 2, 1938, the daughter of Ferdinand and Yvonne Cote Rivard, and was educated in Sanford schools.
Claire’s first husband, Paul Cyr, died in 1983. Her second husband, John B. Paul Jr., died in 2009.
Mrs. Paul worked 20 years as a supervisor with the Allied Shoe and Nike Shoe manufacturing companies in Saco. She later worked several years in area retail stores until her retirement in 2008.
She was an organ donor. She was a long-time member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco. In retirement, she volunteered at the Saco Food Pantry. She enjoyed animals and loved cats.
She is survived by: one son, Daniel P. Cyr and his wife Betty of Old Orchard Beach; one sister, Theresa Payeur and her husband Al of Winter Haven, Fla.; two granddaughters, Kristen Cyr of South Portland and Stacy Cyr of Somerville, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Ebony.
Visiting hours will be 9-10 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Memorial donations in Claire’s memory may be made to the Animal Refuge League, 690 Stroudwater St., Westbrook, ME 04092.
