SACO — Gerard Lamontagne, 91, of Saco, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at his home.

He was born July 17, 1922 in Biddeford, a son of Arthur and Amanda Viger Lamontagne, and was educated in Biddeford schools.

He had been employed with Saco-Lowell/Maremont Corp./Saco Defense for much of his working life.

On Aug. 24, 1963, he married Gloria Martin in Rumford.

Gerry enjoyed watching western movies and working around his yard. He was a member of the Rochambeau snowshoe club.

He was preceded in death by: his wife of 50 years, Gloria, on Oct. 19, 2013; and a sister, Adrienne Dupuis.

Gerard is survived by: one daughter, Lisa Flynn and her husband Daniel of Saco, with whom he had resided; four brothers, Lucien Lamontagne of Scarborough, James Lamontagne of Sanford, Joseph Benoit Lamontagne of Dayton and Robert Lamontagne of Biddeford; and four sisters, Theresa Bergeron of Biddeford, Simone Lamontagne of Saco, Rose Summey of Old Orchard Beach and Madeleine Hilt of Parsonsfield.

Also surviving him are: two nephews, Daniel Martin and his wife Jennifer and their son Aiden of Harrington, Del., and Dale Martin and his wife Kathy and their children Joe and Jane of New Hartford, Conn.; and many other nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Rumford.
