SACO — Edgar A. Perreault, 88, of Saco, passed away Thursday evening, on April 24, 2014, at Pine Point Center for Healthcare in Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on Oct. 25, 1925, a son of Ulric and Albina (Boisclair) Perreault.

He was educated in Biddeford schools.

Edgar was employed by Pepperell Manufacturing for several years. He also worked at the tannery, and retired from Saco Defense in 1988, as a machinist.

His hobbies included woodworking and fixing anything for his family. His passion was music, especially playing the accordion.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Noella (Laliberte) Perreault in 2013; and one daughter, Suzanne Perreault in 2003.

He was also preceded in death by: three brothers, Lionel, Urbain and Julien; and two sisters, Irene Perreault and Rose Eva Grenier.

He is survived by: seven children, Diane Desrosiers and husband Patrick, Donald Perreault and partner Dolores Dupuis, Lorraine Clark and husband Fred, Paula Bedard and husband Daniel, Caroline Grinnell and husband Robert, John Perreault and partner Dixie Goodell, and Joanne Perreault-Carson and husband William; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
