Lawyers in the Library Day will be marked Thursday, May 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library in Kennebunkport. The event is free and open to the public. Participants will have an opportunity to meet with a lawyer based in their community and receive information about free resources. The Old Orchard Beach Little League is hosting a silent auction at Loranger Middle School on May 2 at 5:30 p.m. A spaghetti dinner will be held at the same time and place to raise money for the town’s major league baseball program.

Saturday, May 3

The Rebecca Emery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its next meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at Parsons Memorial Library, 27 Saco Road, Alfred. This will be the chapter’s annual meeting, and there will also be an informational discussion on the Richard Vines Monument. Refreshments will be served. The Kennebunk Baptist Church will host a May Day craft sale on Saturday, May 3. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the church’s stained glass windows. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

An open house and pizza party at The New School is set for Saturday, May 3. Everyone is welcome to visit and learn more about the school and what makes it unique, while enjoying free pizza made in the school’s wood-fired oven. A bean supper hosted by the First Parish Congregational Church, at the corner of Beach and Main streets in Saco, will be May 3 from 5-6:30 p.m. The Alumni Band will perform the Marcel “Mike” Drapeau Scholarship Benefit Concert following the supper at 7 p.m. at the church.

The Old Orchard Beach High School’s National Honor Society is hosting a car wash on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Orchard Beach Fire Department. Donations collected will benefit the Old Orchard Beach Community Food Pantry.

An all-you-can-eat bean supper will be held on Saturday, May 3 at the West Kennebunk United Methodist Church on 160 Alfred Road from 5-6:30 p.m. For more information, call 985-6632.

The 7th annual Chocolate Sunday at Parsonsfield Seminary is set for Sunday, May 4 from 2-4 p.m. at 504 North Road in Parsonsfield. There will be chocolate-covered fruit, gourmet cakes, chocolate specialties, beverages, sundaes and more. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Parsonsfield Seminary. “Reverse Parenting: Supporting Independence of Aging Parents While Providing Assistance,” a presentation by Annemarie Catanzano from the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, will take place at the McArthur Public Library, 270 Main St., Biddeford, on Tuesday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. Catanzano will share insight into services available for older adults, how to access them, and how to care for yourself while caring for someone else. A meeting about this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life of York County will be May 6 at Wells Junior High School at 6 p.m. The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of York County has been an on-going community event that raises money for cancer research and numerous services for cancer patients.
