SOUTH PORTLAND — Ernestine “Ernie” Glidden, 78, of South Portland, died on Dec. 26, 2013 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Bangor on March 16, 1935, a daughter of Richard E. and Eugena J. (Spencer) Glidden.
She attended local schools.
She was preceded in death by: a sister, Eileen Glidden; and two brothers, David and Marty Glidden.
Ernestine is survived by: two brothers, Dennis Glidden and loving sister-in-law Sheri of San Diego, Calif. and Richard Glidden of Brea, Ky.; two sisters, Anita Lowery of Jamestown, Tenn. and Jerrilynn Ball of Mariville.
Ernie was supported by Community Partners, Inc. for more than 25 years. She passed away with caring staff by her side.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Burial will be in the family lot in Fairview Cemetery in Veazie. Arrangements are being handled by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
