BRUNSWICK — Marjorie M. Craig, age 79, passed away on April 28, 2014, after a brief illness.

Marjorie was born on June 8, 1934, in Freeport, the daughter of Roger Basinet and Audrey Parker. She was a graduate of Freeport High School, class of 1952. Marjorie was married for 60 years to her beloved husband Leslie R. Craig Jr.

She worked at L.L. Bean and for the Freeport School lunch program. She was one of the first members of the Freeport’s Young Mother’s Club, a trustee of Burr Cemetery Association, a member of the Durham Congregational Church, and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla #202 Harraseeket. Marjorie also wintered in Zephyrhills, FL for the past 20 years.

She was predeceased by a son, Paul L. Craig; a brother, Paul Basinet; a sister, Eilene McKenney.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie Jr. of Brunswick; a daughter, Sandra

Giggey and her husband Gerald of Brunswick; a brother, Roger Basinet of Brooksville, FL; two sisters, Faye Day and her husband Steven of Freeport, Caroline Vining and her husband Charles of Yarmouth; two grandsons, Shaun Giggey of Brunswick, Marc Giggey and his wife Shannon of Bath; several nieces and nephews; eight greatg randchildren, Kristopher, Tyler, Bryanna, Rachel, Marc Jr., Jeremy, Levi, and Alyssa.

Friends and family can visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, with the Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Interment will be in Burr Cemetery, Freeport.
